Invitation: Nordic delegation to Tel Aviv – November 14-15 2018 - Sustainable healthcare as a leverage for smart circular cities

Join us for a delegation to Tel Aviv to increase business, knowledge and collaborations within sustainable healthcare solutions and smart, circular cities. This is an opportunity to contribute to the Nordic Prime minister initiative on how Nordic solutions can target the global challenges.

The interest for Nordic solutions within sustainability in Israel is very high, not at least when it comes to sustainable healthcare and circular solutions. Healthcare and cities are interlinked and solutions in either affects the other. We believe that solutions which target sustainable healthcare can be valuable for circular and smart cities, and vice versa. Companies and other organizations that are interested in the Israeli market and who have solutions related to healthcare or circular and smart cities can join the delegation and get valuable contacts and business. Solutions of interest is, among others, circular waste solutions, energy solutions, new materials, e-health, logistics, water monitoring & saving and ICT-solutions.

Participating organizations pay for their own travel and accommodation, but the venue, matchmaking, study tour etc are funded by the project.

This is a unique opportunity to go in to a new market or strengthen your business. You will get:

• Contact with relevant decision makers
• Business opportunities – finding R&D partners
• Knowledge about the Israeli market
• Unique insights to the Israeli health sector
• Valuable contacts from the Nordic countries

The event is organized by Nordic Center for Sustainable Healthcare and Afeka Institute of circular engineering and economy in collaboration with the Swedish embassy, the Danish embassy, the Finnish embassy and Upgraded. The event is funded by Nordic Innovation – joint Nordic events.

Join energy project on MedTech - Facility Management Systems

teknikWe are currently, together with a few members, writing a funding application regarding an energy efficiency project focusing on medtech and facility management. We aim to create a cross sector project group including partners from medtech, facility management and hospitals. Although overall energy consumption in hospital is decreasing, the use of machines leads to an increased energy use as well as problems with the working environment. In this project, the first step will include a mapping of machines suitable for an interface, how these machines currently are monitored by facility management, and what technical difficulties there are today.

RSDposter

Politecnico di Torino and the Systemic Design Research Network are pleased to invite you to the upcoming 7th Relating Systems Thinking and Design Symposium (www.rsd7.org) that will be held in Turin on October 24-26, 2018.

This year's conference organised by the Politecnico di Torino is focused on Challenging Complexity by Systemic Design towards Sustainability with the aim to promote an international and interdisciplinary debate on how Systemic Design-related disciplines can help our societies, economies and industrial systems to face the challenge of sustainability in complex environments.
There will be 6 tracks addressing different issues; one of those will specially focus on “Social care and health systems for sustainable living”, boosting the dialogue on sustainable innovations for our health systems.

Academics, professionals and industrial designers are welcomed to provide their view and take part in the conference.

Two types of contributions can be submitted:
1. Long abstracts. The selection process will be done on long abstracts (max. 1000 words) to be submitted by 15 May. We will invite authors to submit the full paper soon after the RSD7 Symposium.s.
2. Visualisation works. A special call invites students, designers and academics to submit visualisation works that will be part of the exhibition “Visualising complex systems”, concerning how design can help visualizing, explaining and navigating complexity. In this case, contributors should submit a short abstract (max. 350 words) together with 3-5 high-resolution images and any correlated links/website in case of interactive visualisation by 1 June.

You can find more information about deadlines and submissions here: http://www.rsd7.org/call-for-contributions/

Report on challenges with internationalisation of Swedish energy and climate efficient healthcare

NCSH has with funding from the Swedish Energy Agency conducted a survey and interviews with relevant stakeholders within energy efficient healthcare. The focus has been internationalization, both in terms of collaboration regarding innovation but also export. The report includes a number of conclusions that focus on both challenges that need to be addressed nationally and internationally.

Some of the challenges identified are:
• Home market: It is sometimes difficult for Swedish companies to get their first client and international customers expect the first client to be national.
• Many markets have too low demands when they procure, for example on energy efficiency, which means that Swedish innovations that could be best on the market can’t compete. We need to show international stakeholders whats solutions are on the market so the demands in procurment gets high enough for Swedish solutions.
• LCC: Both nationally and internationally there is too little focus on Life cycle costs.
• National export organizations in Sweden wants to focus on China, India, USA while the companies are mostly interested in the Nordics, Germany, Holland, UK and Europe in general.
• There is a need for joint platforms that can initiate and facilitate international collaborations.
The report is in Swedish with focus on the Swedish market. But the results are probably for the most part applicable for all Nordic countries and for the whole scope of Sustainable Healthcare.

We welcome Upgraded to NCSH

We are more than happy to welcome Upgraded to the network!

"Upgraded is a non-profit association for health & wellbeing startups in Finland.
Our goal is to make sure that startup innovations have an established role in the society as a source of health and wellbeing solutions. We help startups stand out by making their solutions visible and finding the right connections. No good health innovation should be lost due to the lack of knowledge about it.
We are in the business of building bridges. Startups are a part of a bigger puzzle, and we want to build the bridges between the different pieces of startups, corporates, public sector & universities. The industry thrives on cooperation and everyone will reach their goals quicker when working together.
We are also the organisers of the premier startup-driven health innovation event in the Nordics – Upgraded Life Festival. The fifth event will take place on 31st May – 1st June, 2018."

Voxeyes - new member in NCSH!

We are happy to begin the new year with announcing a new member in the network - Voxeyes.

Bildresultat för voxeyes

Voxeyes is remote healthcare at its best. Sustainable and available for everyone, no matter which patient group you belong to. As technology is advancing, more and more alternatives are being created for patients, however no option today is truly inclusive and available for all target groups. It was for this reason that Tudorclinic chose, together with T-Meeting, to create Voxeyes, where technology is adapted for the user and not the other way around.

If you are speech impaired, deaf, hearing impaired, deaf-blind or lack IT-knowledge, there is no remote healthcare solution today which enables direct communication. Voxeyes is built in unity with tried and tested partners which understood that large patient groups today were being neglected in the wave of new solutions for remote healthcare/online healthcare. This is why Voxeyes supports all patient groups!
