Nordic Center for Sustainable Healthcare (NCSH) is a cross-sectoral network involving stakeholders, organisations, projects and expertise in the area of sustainable healthcare – all sharing the goal of creating a more sustainable healthcare sector. The Nordic countries and many of NCSH's international members have a solid knowledge base and advanced technologies for improved environmental performance and sustainability in healthcare. Our goal is to make the knowledge and solutions more accessible and visible worldwide.

NCSH was initiated in 2015 by Stiftelsen TEM (the TEM Foundation) in Malmö, Sweden.
Since the 1980s, TEM has been a leading and driving actor when it comes to introducing new approaches in the environmental field, including preventive environmental protection, environmental audits, and environmentally driven product development.
Sustainable healthcare is horizontal
The concept of sustainable healthcare is cross-sectoral and not assigned to specific industry sectors. That being said, a certain percentage of companies in almost all industrial sectors have sustainable healthcare solutions – as the figure below shows.
