Join NCSH at the Interregional Forum in Montréal
Description
Advancing sustainable healthcare through international collaboration
From 27–30 April 2026, the Nordic Center for Sustainable Healthcare (NCSH), together with partners, will participate in a European delegation to Montréal, Canada, in connection with the Interregional Forum for Sustainable Healthcare.
The initiative brings together public authorities, healthcare organisations, solution providers and networks working at the intersection of innovation, sustainability and value-based procurement. The aim is to strengthen international collaboration and accelerate the transition towards more sustainable healthcare systems.
A platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange
The side events are designed as a high-level exchange and co-creation platform rather than a traditional study visit. Participants will explore how value-based procurement and sustainable procurement strategies can be used as tools to improve patient outcomes, reduce environmental impact, and support the adoption of innovative solutions in healthcare.
Through workshops, site visits, and matchmaking sessions, the delegation will enable knowledge sharing, practical insights, and long-term partnership building across Europe and Canada.
Why Canada?
Canada offers a highly relevant context for European stakeholders, with advanced sustainable healthcare strategies and strong public procurement frameworks. It also provides a dynamic ecosystem connecting healthcare providers, policymakers, and innovators, making it an ideal setting for cross-sector collaboration.
Programme highlights
The programme includes:
- Hospital site visits and direct dialogue with healthcare leadership and procurement teams
- Pitch sessions where companies present innovative solutions within digital health, MedTech, and sustainability
- Strategic workshops and co-creation sessions focusing on value-based procurement and cross-border collaboration
- Networking activities, including a dedicated reception and informal exchanges
Participants will also attend the Interregional Forum for Sustainable Healthcare, addressing key topics such as responsible procurement, climate adaptation, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in healthcare.
Strengthening international collaboration
Together with partners such as Health Proc Europe and Canadian organisations, NCSH contributes to building a strong platform for future EU–Canada cooperation. The delegation offers participants the opportunity to engage with key stakeholders, develop partnerships, and contribute to shaping the future of sustainable healthcare.
At a time when healthcare systems face increasing financial and environmental pressures, procurement is becoming a key lever for systemic change. This initiative supports moving from ideas to implementation and accelerating the transformation towards sustainable healthcare.
