IginTech®: Making glove use visible, measurable and more sustainable
We welcome IginTech® as a new member of the Nordic Center for Sustainable Healthcare.
IginTech® is a healthcare robotics company developing IginSmart®, an automated, touch-free platform designed to support the donning and management of non-sterile disposable gloves at the point of care.
IginSmart® combines automated glove donning, proprietary glove cartridges and usage analytics. The platform provides cartridge-level traceability and visibility into glove consumption by location, shift and user, helping healthcare organisations address unnecessary consumption, glove waste, inventory planning and procurement control while supporting a more deliberate and hygiene-supportive workflow.
IginTech® is commercially active through distribution partners across the EMEA and Asia regions and is currently pursuing United States FDA clearance for the IginSmart® platform through the 510(k) pathway.
The company aims to help healthcare organisations reduce avoidable glove waste while addressing workflow factors associated with cross-transmission risks. These challenges can contribute to unnecessary resource use, additional healthcare costs and a greater environmental burden. Controlled glove access and measurable consumption data can support site-specific evaluation of environmental, operational, procurement and hygiene-related outcomes.
“The glove itself is only the visible part of a much larger process. Behind every glove are decisions involving environmental impact, hygiene-supportive workflow, procurement, inventory and operational control. IginSmart® is designed to make this process visible, measurable and manageable, helping healthcare organisations turn everyday glove use into meaningful environmental and operational value.”
