Side Event: Hackathon with Big Buyers working together

The EU project “Big Buyers working together” aims to deliver sound solutions for public procurement European wide.

Among ten working groups (so called communities of practice), BME is in charge of running two working groups about procurement in healthcare, namely efficiency and sustainability. Alongside other activities, there was a hackathon in Spring 2025 in Madrid where buyers could determine the most urgent needs in healthcare procurement. Now the time has come to deliver reliable solutions for healthcare challenges.

The three challenges they will cover are:

Nursing care plans Challenge Owner: WIGEV (Austria)
Cleaning hospitals waste water Challenge Owner: RESAH (France)
Medication errors Challenge Owner: IRCCS (Italy)
