What a week!
The 6th Nordic Conference on Sustainable Healthcare was packed with innovation, collaboration, and a dash of fun. The fun began with a pre-event at the Embassy of Finland in Copenhagen, where healthcare leaders discussed green hospital designs and set the tone for a week of eco-consciousness. Thank you to our Finnish friends for arranging this event.
Day one at the 6th Nordic Conference on Sustainable Healthcare was filled with exciting panels—experts from Danske Regioner, Sykehusinnkjøp, Mission Kharkiv, Canadian Coalition for Green Health Care, UNDP, Ministry of Health, Welfare, and Sport of the Netherlands, Capital region of Denmark, Consorcio Energia Toscana, Region Stockholm, Skånes University Hospital, Singapore University Healthcare and many more tackled challenges like decarbonizing healthcare and rethinking waste into circular solutions. Attendees got to dive into topics like digital health, sustainable infrastructure and how to engage stakeholders in greener healthcare practices.
Side events were the real treat. Hvidovre Hospital in Denmark showed off its sustainable solutions, while a tour of Malmö’s new hospital building offered up-close views of eco-innovation in action. Not to mention the KitNewCare challenge, which reimagined kidney care with climate goals in mind. Other side events with DiCE, DAPHNE, and NIELS Market Dialogue offered interactive and interesting discussion and workshops.
Between sessions, coffee breaks with amazing sweets and food morphed into lively networking, while the much-anticipated afterparty at Medley allowed all attendees to celebrate with food, drinks, and a few eco-friendly cheers.
In short, this week brought together cutting-edge ideas, cross-border partnerships, and plenty of inspiration to rethink healthcare from the ground up. And with next year’s conference already on the calendar, it’s clear the sustainable healthcare revolution is just getting started!
