Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Community Hospital are the first hospitals in Singapore to be designed and built together from the ground up as an integrated healthcare development.
And today, they are joining the NCSH network!
"
The 700-bed Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) and 400-bed Jurong Community Hospital (JCH) were envisioned to transform the way healthcare is provided to the community and designed to deliver patient-centred services in a seamless and integrated manner. They complement each other for better patient care, greater efficiency, and convenience. The hospital planning process considered how patient care, treatment and rehabilitation may continue seamlessly between the two hospitals.
Delivering an energy use intensity (EUI) of 72 kBtu per square foot per year, the super-energy-efficient design of NTFGH & JCH utilizes 38 percent less energy than a typical Singaporean hospital and 69 percent less than the average U.S. hospital. NTFGH and JCH are among the greenest and most sustainable hospitals in the region and have won the following awards:
1. The American Institute of Architects COTE (Committee on the Environment) Top Ten Awards 2017 for excellence in sustainable design.
2. European Healthcare Design Award 2016 for professional excellence in the healthcare environment design in Europe and around the world.
