Today we welcome a new member to the network - Aarhus University Hospital. Their membership means that five hospitals (Randers Regional Hospital, Regional Hospital Central Jutland, Horsens Regional Hospital, Regional Hospital West Jutland, Aarhus University Hospital) in the Central Denmark Region are now members in of NCSH!

Aarhus University Hospital develops and provides highly specialised treatment, research and education at international level. The hospital’s vision is to belong to the elite of university hospitals and to be the best choice for both patients and staff. For the twelfth year running, Aarhus University Hospital has been appointed Denmark’s best hospital by the specialist newspaper ”Dagens Medicin”. Moreover, the hospital is currently ranked as the 11th best hospital in world and number four in Europe by the American Magazine Newsweek.
Aarhus University Hospital offers specialised treatment to the 1.3 million citizens in Central Denmark Region and other regions in Denmark. The hospital has 41 clinical departments and well above 9,000 full time employees.
In accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Aarhus University Hospital is dedicated to support a sustainable development through innovative processes. In collaboration with Central Denmark Region and other stakeholders, Aarhus University Hospital has developed a model for circular production and consumption aiming at facilitating collaboration across the value chain. This vision is to create an optimal framework for circular economy initiatives to make a model creating value for all actors in the value chain. A local example at Aarhus University Hospital is the development and testing of a value chain model for plastic waste management in collaboration with the plastic industry and relevant companies.
