Become a Kidney Centre Sustainability Champion

The Kidney Centre Sustainability Champion role is a key initiative aimed at making kidney care more sustainable, reducing its environmental impact, and improving patient outcomes. With kidney care's significant energy consumption, water use, and waste generation, adopting sustainable practices is crucial for both environmental responsibility and enhancing care quality.

Managed by the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare, in partnership with the UK Kidney Association and Health Innovation North-East and North Cumbria, this role allows healthcare professionals to lead Sustainable Quality Improvement (SusQI) projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and engage with patients to co-create sustainable solutions.

As a champion, you'll complete a free online course on sustainable kidney care, participate in national audits, and share best practices to foster local change. The role offers numerous benefits, including the opportunity to improve healthcare equity, connect with a global network, and gain skills in leadership, project management, and professional development.

If you're ready to make a positive impact, sign up to become a Kidney Centre Sustainability Champion today.
