Sweden's municipalities are key players in the country's provision of local services like healthcare and elderly care – which makes them a great fit for NCSH's own focus areas
We are therefore happy to give a warm welcome to Höganäs kommun (municipality) as the new addition to the NCSH network from Sweden. Read about their organisation and work with elderly care below:
"Höganäs is a municipality with approximately 28,000 inhabitants located in Skåne County, Sweden. The social administration's care and social care department provides help and support to the residents in matters related to the elderly and people with disabilities. The social administration is the client of interventions and the executor is, among other actors, the fully owned municipal care company Höganäs Omsorg AB with approximately 1000 employees. Both the social administration and Höganäs Omsorg AB are led by a social manager/CEO, a so-called personal union.
Interventions within elderly care include special housing (nursing homes, housing for people with cognitive impairment, short-term care), day care, interventions in the home (home health care, home care, security alarms), technical aids and family support."
