1.5 Degrees: Brand-New Podcast by Our Member

The NCSH member Enrad has just started their podcast 1.5 degrees – a podcast about sustainable cooling and heating!

1.5 degrees is created with the purpose of helping more people in the cooling and heating industry in their effort to work with sustainable solutions, all through the means of education and inspiration. Very fitting, considering Enrad is one of Sweden’s leading manufacturers of cooling units and heat pumps using natural refrigerants.

Enrad themselves describe their new podcast further like this:

The name of the podcast is taken from the UN climate target set in Paris in 2015.

“The research is clear: The cooling and heating industry has a very large impact on the climate. Many players in the industry therefore want to take their responsibility, but the knowledge and inspiration is often lacking, which is why we are starting this podcast. We will interview experts who will share their knowledge to help consultants, property owners and other industry actors do the right thing. We will also interview companies that have succeeded in switching to climate-adapted solutions and take part in their experiences” says Andreas Bäckäng, CEO, Enrad.

Stig Rath, one of the Nordic region's leading experts in natural refrigerants, is the first guest to be interviewed. Throughout spring, the interviews will continue with property owners and other industry actors. One of them is Pontus Thorsson, Doctor of Technology in Acoustics – he talks about the noise regulations and how installations of cooling and heating solutions can make large financial and environmental savings. We also interview Daniel Båth, CEO of Franck's refrigeration industry, who will cover the properties of the natural refrigerant ammonia and what you need to keep in mind when designing, installing, and servicing the refrigerant.

“I have followed the industry's sustainable development for a long time and have experienced the transition to be too slow. The solutions are there to be sustainable. Everyone wants to do the right thing, but for many it is difficult to change their way of working and they simply lack knowledge in the field. This I hope will be able to contribute with” says Andreas Bäckäng.
